The First Team Hurricane Triumph Portable Basketball System is one of the most respected competition-grade portable basketball goals in institutional sports. Designed for fieldhouses, gymnasiums, and any environment where aggressive, upper-level basketball is played daily, the Hurricane Triumph delivers competition specs, uncompromising durability, and the floor safety features that athletic directors and facilities managers demand.
The Hurricane Triumph is not a recreational system. It is engineered from the ground up for competitive institutional environments where players are physical, games are intense, and equipment takes a beating every single day. The massive dual-boom extension arm, competition glass backboard, and direct-mounted goal make this the standard that serious programs choose when they need a portable that can keep up with their athletes.
Every Hurricane Triumph ships with First Team's flagship FT235 42" x 72" unbreakable competition tempered glass backboard. This is a full NCAA and NFHS regulation-size board built to withstand the punishment of competitive institutional play year after year. The bolt-on Tuffguard backboard padding protects both the board and players from impact, and is included as standard on every unit.
Most portable systems in this category mount the goal directly to the backboard, meaning every dunk, hang, and hard rim impact sends stress directly into the glass. The Hurricane Triumph is engineered differently. The goal mounts directly to the extension arm, completely decoupling the rim from the backboard. Over years of heavy institutional use, this single design decision protects your backboard investment and dramatically extends the life of the system.
The Hurricane's extension arm features upper and lower boom supports with a 96" base-to-backboard extension, meeting all NCAA and National High School Federation (NFHS) requirements for portable basketball systems. The boom pad is included as standard. Height adjusts from 6 ft to 10 ft using a low-maintenance extension spring design that one person can operate easily.
Heavy foam padding covers the front, sides, and back of the base unit. The system rolls on 8" diameter non-marking wheels that protect your gym floor during repositioning. 5" non-marking foot pads lock the unit firmly into the play position. Forklift pockets in the base make transport and installation straightforward for facilities teams.
The Hurricane Triumph is available in three types. The only difference between them is whether floor anchor tie-downs are included and what type of floor they are designed for. All three are identical in every other specification.
The base configuration. Includes the full Hurricane Triumph system with competition glass backboard, all padding, and non-marking wheels. No floor anchor tie-downs included. Best for facilities that do not require the system to be anchored to the floor during play.
Identical to the base Triumph with the addition of optional tie-down anchors for standard floors. Best for facilities with standard hardwood or sport court floors where anchoring the system during high-intensity play provides added stability and peace of mind.
Identical to the base Triumph with the addition of optional tie-down anchors specifically designed for floating floors. Best for facilities with floating hardwood floors where standard floor anchors are not appropriate and a floating-floor-specific anchor system is required to avoid floor damage.
