Bison 3-1/2" Steel Fan Tough Duty Playground Basketball Hoop System PR20

Bison 3-1/2" Tough Duty Steel Fan Playground Basketball System PR20

The Bison 3-1/2" Tough Duty Steel Fan Playground Basketball System PR20 is a permanent fixed height outdoor basketball system pairing the BA495 39" x 54" Dura Steel fan-shaped backboard — confirmed by Bison as the heaviest backboard of its type — with the BA27 standard outdoor goal on a BA775 Tough-Duty 3-1/2" O.D. galvanized gooseneck pipe buried 36" into the ground with a 36" safe play area. Fixed height at regulation 10'. Single configuration. A fully specified entry-level permanent outdoor basketball installation built around Bison's heaviest steel fan backboard on the Tough Duty 3-1/2" gooseneck platform.

BA495 Dura Steel Fan Backboard: Heaviest Backboard of Its Type

The BA495 39" x 54" Dura Steel fan-shaped backboard is built from 12 ga. steel skin with a heavy-duty mounting support structure and a superior front mount design. Bison's own catalog language opens with "Steel and lots of it" and confirms the BA495 as the heaviest backboard of its type — meaning the heaviest fan-shaped steel backboard available in the outdoor basketball market. A standard 20" x 35" fan-type backboard mounting hole pattern and 5" x 5" goal mounting hole pattern are built in, compatible with the BA27 goal included with the PR20. White powder coated finish. The BA495 carries a 10-year limited warranty.

BA27 Standard Outdoor Goal

The PR20 ships with the BA27 standard front mount competition goal, featuring a 5/8" steel rim, 1/2" braces, and continuous netlocks. The BA27 carries a 1-year limited warranty. This is Bison's entry-level outdoor goal, appropriate for the Tough Duty platform and the PR20's price point. Buyers requiring a longer goal warranty should consider the PR52 or PR55 with the BA39U Ultimate goal and its unconditional lifetime replacement warranty.

BA775 Tough-Duty Gooseneck Pipe: Galvanized, 36" Bury

The PR20 is mounted on Bison's BA775 Tough-Duty 3-1/2" O.D. galvanized gooseneck pipe with zinc plated hardware, buried 36" into the ground in a permanent concrete anchor. Heavy-duty 1-5/8" braces support the backboard mount. The BA775 pole structure carries a 10-year limited warranty.

Optional pole padding: BA700PP pole padding is available as an add-on for the PR20. For public playground courts with active daily use, ordering pole padding at the time of purchase is significantly easier than sourcing it after the system is permanently installed in concrete.
Installation note: The PR20 requires a permanent concrete anchor with the 3-1/2" gooseneck pipe buried 36" below the playing surface. At 215 lbs, professional installation is recommended. The full 36" bury depth must be achieved in properly prepared concrete for the system to perform as specified.

Warranty

The BA775 pole structure carries a 10-year limited warranty. The BA495 Dura Steel fan backboard carries a 10-year limited warranty. The BA27 goal carries a 1-year limited warranty. All limited warranties cover damage during normal and intended use as determined by Bison. For facilities where players pay an individual or group fee to use the equipment, Bison products carry no warranty except for obvious manufacturing defects. Vandalism damage is excluded from all Bison warranty coverage.

Warranty

All Bison products are warranted against manufacturing defects at the time of delivery. In addition, most products are covered by warranty periods stated in the description of the product. Where listed as “limited”, warranties cover damage or failure that occurs during the course of “normal or intended use” of the warranted product. Normal or intended use is described as activity that is necessary for the participation in the sport for which the equipment is designed.

Bison Limited Warranties do not cover any damage or failure that is the direct or indirect result of any use that is not deemed in the sole discretion of Bison to be “normal and intended use”. When warranties are stated as “unconditional” or “unconditional replacement”, the above stated limitations do not normally apply except in cases where damage was obviously the result of a malicious act of vandalism.

Where no specific length or type of warranty is listed in the catalog, the product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects and for the intended purpose at the time of shipment. Whether or not stated as such, all Bison warranties allow Bison to repair or replace warranted products at Bison’s sole option. Normal deterioration of products due to weather, wear and tear, or other causes that do not affect functional use are not covered by Bison warranties, regardless of type of stated warranty.

All warranties are valid only when product is used in the intended application as outlined in Bison’s printed literature, when installed according to Bison’s instructions and when matched with compatible components as described in Bison’s literature. Under no circumstances will Bison Residential Basketball Equipment be warranted for commercial or institutional use.

Due to the abusive nature of pay-to-play facilities, unless specifically agreed to in writing, Bison products carry no warranty except for obvious manufacturing defects when used in a facility where players pay an individual or group fee to use Bison equipment.

Bison will pay ground freight only to repair or replace defective merchandise. Unless otherwise stated, Bison will not assume any liability for labor costs incurred for removal or replacement of product replaced or repaired under warranty.
