First Team Brute In-Ground Fixed Height Basketball Hoop

The First Team Brute In-Ground Fixed Height Basketball Goal is a permanent outdoor basketball system built on a 5-9/16" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized steel post with a 72" post-to-backboard extension and 48" in-ground bury, available in 12 backboard configurations across steel, aluminum, perforated aluminum, fiberglass, and acrylic. Every single Brute configuration — including the acrylic variants — carries First Team's Lifetime Unconditional Warranty, which covers any damage or failure for any reason including deliberate rim hanging. Fixed height at regulation 10'. The FT1905NC nose-cone backboard mounting design with through-bolt permanently locking nose-cone to post simplifies installation, and all Brute goals are direct mounted to eliminate backboard stress.

FT1905 Brute Post: 5-9/16" Schedule 40 Galvanized, 72" Extension, 48" Bury

Every Brute configuration is built on the FT1905 Brute Post, a 5-9/16" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized steel post buried 48" into the ground in a permanent concrete anchor. The post extension provides 72" of run-out room from post to backboard, giving players the safety clearance a high-use outdoor court demands. The FT1905NC nose-cone backboard mounting design locks the nose-cone to the post via a through-bolt, securing the backboard mount and making installation and setup straightforward. All Brute goals are direct mounted to the backboard, eliminating the stress that indirect mounting transfers to the backboard structure. Optional pole padding and backboard padding are available for all Brute configurations.

Lifetime Unconditional Warranty on Every Configuration

Every Brute configuration — steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and acrylic — carries First Team's Lifetime Unconditional Warranty. This is the broadest warranty coverage First Team offers. The Unconditional Warranty covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason and is exempt from all limitations, including deliberate rim hanging and multiple player hanging. Vandalism is not covered. All painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.

FT172D Unbreakable Fixed Goal

All steel, aluminum, and fiberglass Brute configurations ship with the FT172D Unbreakable Fixed Goal — First Team's double 5/8" solid rim fixed goal with a rust-resistant powder coated finish, direct mounted to the backboard. The FT172D carries the Lifetime Unconditional Warranty on all Brute configurations.

FT186 Heavy Duty Flex Goal: Acrylic Variants

The three acrylic Brute configurations — III, Select, and Supreme — ship with the FT186 Heavy Duty Flex Goal paired with the appropriate HFM acrylic backboard support structure (FT36-HFM for 36" wide; FT42-HFM for 42" wide). The FT186 features a 3/16" steel rim support and continuous netlocks, and carries the Lifetime Unconditional Warranty on all Brute acrylic configurations.

Choosing your backboard: Steel backboards offer maximum durability for high-use public courts. Aluminum backboards eliminate rust while maintaining structural rigidity. Fiberglass delivers rebound quality closer to tempered glass with strong weather resistance. Acrylic provides visual clarity and a professional playing surface feel. Contact our team if you need help matching the right backboard material and size to your court and budget.

  • Facilities where every backboard material option must carry the same top-tier warranty — unlike systems where acrylic configurations carry a reduced warranty tier, every Brute configuration including acrylic carries the full Lifetime Unconditional Warranty
  • Procurement teams selecting backboard material by application — steel for maximum durability, aluminum for rust-free construction, fiberglass for rebound quality, or acrylic for visual clarity — all on the same Brute post platform with identical lifetime unconditional coverage
  • Facilities that need a proven First Team fixed height platform at a step below the Tyrant's 6-5/8" post, where the Brute's 5-9/16" post delivers the rigidity, nose-cone mounting, and 72" extension a permanent outdoor installation demands at a lower system cost

WARRANTY

All First Team products are warranted against manufacturers defects at delivery. Additionally, First Team warranties most products for a given period of time as stated in the literature. Below is and explanation of First Team's warranty levels.

Limited Warranty:
Covers any damage caused by normal basketball activity and normal player contact with the goal. "Normal basketball activity" and "Normal player contact" shall be described as any action that is necessary for participation in the game of basketball. Deliberate hanging on the rim, multiple player hanging, and vandalism are not covered under the Limited Warranty.

Superior Warranty:
Covers any damage or failure caused by any type of basketball activity or related contact with the unit. This includes deliberate hanging on the rim. The Superior Warranty does not cover vandalism.

Any normal wear and tear caused by weathering or UV exposure is not covered under any First Team warranty. All painted items carry a one year limited warranty on coating.

Some basketball products carry a warranty valid only when used in a residential setting. "Residential" is defined as a "single family dwelling." Products coverd by this warranty stipulation are indicated in First Team's product literature with a "R" symbol next to the warranty. Under no circumstances shall any basketball product carrying a strictly residential warranty be covered for non-residential use.

Due to the abusive nature of amusement facilities, unless specifically agreed to in writing, First Team products carry no warranty except for obvious manufacturing defects when used in an entertainment facility where players pay a fee to use the equipment.
