The First Team Slam In-Ground Adjustable Basketball Goal delivers a unique combination of adjustability, durability, and affordability with a design that sets it apart from every other system in the First Team in-ground lineup: the Quik-Pin height adjustment system. No crank. No handle. Pull the pin, lift to the desired height in 6" increments, replace the pin, and play. Spring-aided counterbalance makes the lift effortless. Six backboard configurations across acrylic, tempered glass, and smoked tempered glass, with a choice of buried-post or bolt-down baseplate installation on every configuration, all backed by a Lifetime Superior Warranty.
The Slam uses First Team's Quik-Pin height adjustment system, a fundamentally different approach to rim height adjustment. There is no crank handle to turn and no mechanism to operate. To adjust the rim height, pull the pin located on the back of the unit, lift the adjustment handle to the desired height, replace the pin, and you are ready to play. Springs built into the extension assembly counterbalance the weight of the backboard and rim, so the lift is effortless regardless of which backboard configuration you have installed. The Slam adjusts from 7' to 10' in 6" increments, covering youth through adult play on the same permanent court. For families and programs where fast, tool-free height adjustment with no mechanical complexity is the priority, the Quik-Pin system is as straightforward as in-ground adjustability gets.
The Slam is built around the same FT1100 heavy 11ga. 4" x 4" one-piece steel post used across the Jam and Vector. The one-piece design eliminates the joint deterioration risk common with sectional-type posts, where connections between sections can loosen, corrode, and flex over time under repeated play loads. The Slam's post goes into the ground as a single structural member and stays that way for the life of the system. The FT1250 Slam Arm System connects the post to the backboard with a post to backboard extension distance of 24" with the rim at regulation 10', keeping the backboard close to the post for a compact, clean footprint on the court.
Like every First Team goal, the Slam mounts the rim directly to the extension arm rather than the backboard. Every dunk, hang, and hard rim impact is absorbed by the steel arm rather than transferred into the backboard material. This eliminates the backboard cracking and frame stress that occurs on goals where the rim mounts directly to the board, protecting your backboard investment across years of heavy daily use regardless of which configuration you select.
Like the Jam and Vector, the Slam offers both installation methods across every single backboard configuration. Standard Slam units use the FT1100 buried post, set 36" below the playing surface in concrete for a traditional in-ground installation. BP variants use the FT1100BP bolt-down baseplate post for a surface-mounted bolt-down installation. An optional FT16 ground sleeve can be purchased separately for standard buried-post units, making the post removable from the sleeve if relocation is ever needed.
The Slam offers six backboard configurations, spanning acrylic and tempered glass including the unique smoked tempered glass Eclipse option. Every configuration is available in both standard buried-post and BP bolt-down versions for a total of twelve orderable variants. All twelve carry a Lifetime Superior Warranty.
All configurations share the same FT1100 4" x 4" post, FT1250 Slam Arm System, Quik-Pin spring-aided height adjustment, direct rim mount design, and Lifetime Superior Warranty. Every configuration is available in both standard buried-post (no suffix) and bolt-down baseplate (BP suffix) versions. Select the BP version at checkout if you want the bolt-down installation option.
