Every Thunder configuration is built on the same heavy-duty platform with the same 48" fixed extension, the same hand crank height adjustment, and the same direct-to-arm goal mounting design. The five types differ only in backboard size and material, giving your facility a clear choice between acrylic durability and glass performance at the 36" x 60" and 42" x 72" sizes — plus a unique 36" x 54" glass option found only in the Ultra configuration.
Direct Rim Mount Design
Like all First Team portables, the Thunder mounts the goal directly to the extension arm rather than the backboard. Every hard shot, dunk, and rim impact is absorbed by the steel arm rather than transferred into the backboard material. This design decision protects your backboard investment and meaningfully extends the life of the system across years of daily institutional use.
Simple, Reliable Height Adjustment
The Thunder uses a hand crank infinite height adjustment from 6 ft 6 in to regulation 10 ft. The straightforward hand crank design is simple to operate, easy to maintain, and reliable over long-term daily use in busy facilities. For programs that do not need motorized or spring-assisted adjustment, the Thunder's hand crank is exactly the right tool for the job.

The Thunder is available in five types based on backboard size and material. All five share the same Thunder platform, 48" fixed extension, and hand crank height adjustment.
Thunder Select
36" x 60" AcrylicThe entry-level Thunder. A durable 36" x 60" acrylic backboard delivers reliable recreational performance at the most accessible price in the Thunder lineup. Best for programs where budget is the primary consideration and glass performance is not required.
Thunder Ultra
36" x 54" GlassThe only Thunder configuration with a 36" x 54" tempered glass backboard — a unique smaller glass option in the lineup. Best for facilities that want glass rebound performance in a more compact board size, or where a full 60" wide board is impractical for the space.
Thunder Pro
36" x 60" GlassSteps up to a 36" x 60" tempered glass backboard for superior rebound response and a more premium playing experience while keeping the smaller backboard footprint. Best for facilities that want glass performance without a full regulation-size board.
Thunder Supreme
42" x 72" AcrylicA full regulation-size 42" x 72" acrylic backboard at an accessible price. Best for facilities that need a full-size board for serious recreational and upper-level league play without stepping up to glass.
Thunder Arena
42" x 72" GlassThe top Thunder configuration. A full regulation-size 42" x 72" tempered glass backboard delivers the best rebound performance and durability in the Thunder lineup. Best for facilities running serious upper-level institutional play that want glass performance at a competitive price point.

Color Chart
WARRANTY
All First Team products are warranted against manufacturers defects at delivery. Additionally, First Team warranties most products for a given period of time as stated in the literature. Below is and explanation of First Team's warranty levels.
Limited Warranty:
Covers any damage caused by normal basketball activity and normal player contact with the goal. "Normal basketball activity" and "Normal player contact" shall be described as any action that is necessary for participation in the game of basketball. Deliberate hanging on the rim, multiple player hanging, and vandalism are not covered under the Limited Warranty.
Superior Warranty:
Covers any damage or failure caused by any type of basketball activity or related contact with the unit. This includes deliberate hanging on the rim. The Superior Warranty does not cover vandalism.
Unconditional Warranty:
Covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason. Any product carrying an Unconditional Warranty is exempt from the above stated limitations.
Any normal wear and tear caused by weathering or UV exposure is not covered under any First Team warranty. All painted items carry a one year limited warranty on coating.
Some basketball products carry a warranty valid only when used in a residential setting. "Residential" is defined as a "single family dwelling." Products covered by this warranty stipulation are indicated in First Team's product literature with a "R" symbol next to the warranty. Under no circumstances shall any basketball product carrying a strictly residential warranty be covered for non-residential use.
Due to the abusive nature of amusement facilities, unless specifically agreed to in writing, First Team products carry no warranty except for obvious manufacturing defects when used in an entertainment facility where players pay a fee to use the equipment.
