Precise Repetition Training: This three-wheeled Total Attack volleyball machine was designed under the direction of top international and collegiate coaches to provide sidespin and increased power to match the highest level of play. It will deliver thousands of reps in daily practice of serve receiving, digging and spiking. With three extra-wide throwing wheels, accuracy and repeatability are assured in every drill, eliminating time wasting errant hits.
Serving: Speeds range up to 90 MPH providing power equal to the best of jump serves. Delivering breaking sidespin serves at exclusive professional speeds as well as top spins and floaters make this machine unmatched for top-level serve receive repetition. Because of the three-wheel design, this unit makes change of spin and speed quickly with a turn of dials, minimizing receiver anticipation. This machine can be easily rolled along the serving baseline, changing the angle of serves and provides the highest serve release point of any machine.
Spiking:The Total Attack delivers the ball at realistic angles from over the net at top speeds to make actual game conditions a part of every digging drill.
Setting: Providing rapid reps at varying intervals, the Total Attack will meet the requirements of all setting drills. Accurate and consistent soft sets with no spin are provided at any angle and height. This machine can be set to release the ball from a realistic setting height, not from floor level like some competitive units. The locating pins on the shaft will allow you to instantly position the throwing head down to the setting position.
Ball wear is extremely limited due to the three 4″ wide, soft white polyurethane ball gripping surfaces and the contoured shape of the ball throwing wheels that uniformly distribute the contact forces, eliminating the high wear contact points. With three wheel surfaces, ball wear is further reduced from any other wheel machine on the market.
Horizontal throwing head movement allows the coach to point ball delivery in any direction, working straight on, in the seams or to an individual’s weak side to really extend any player’s range. The three-wheel design changes the ball delivery plane by simply adjusting wheel speed dials.
Vertical movement coupled with the horizontal movement, means the coach can instantly throw the ball to any point on the court, creating game situations & challenging the players to perform in progressively more difficult circumstances.
Portability: The extra-large rolling wheels provide effortless, safe machine mobility to any location on the court and the extra-wide base provides stability to accommodate power and breaking serves.
Storage:The Total Attack will fit through any standard 3′ door for safe storage. The throwing head can also be removed, allowing storage of the frame in the open gym. A machine cover is available separately and is used to protect and secure the machine during storage.
The Total Attack can be safely operated by any assistant coach, player, student or parent. This frees the coach to be by the receiving players to teach proper mechanics effectively. No more yelling across the court. It also allows the coach to improve the quality of standard drills and to create new machine drills for every phase of the game.
The Total Attack platform has a 16-gauge diamond plate, non-slip surface for sure-footing and safety during use.
The frame of the Total Attack is powder-coated, rust-resistant steel tubing for extreme durability.
The extra-wide base of the Total Attack machine assures real stability. As the throwing head is raised, it moves towards center of gravity, further insuring stability.
Three powerful variable speed motors directly drive indestructible 4″ wide ball throwing wheels. Rapid recovery provides rapid repetition, no waiting for air-powered launch system to recover.

FUNCTION | SPORTS ATTACK WHEEL-PROPELLED MACHINES | AIR-PROPELLED MACHINES |
Machine Performance |
Throwing head pivots easily delivering ball to any location on the court. Spin, speed and tempo can be adjusted instantly between throws. | More difficult to place ball, must move the entire machine to introduce variation. Air propelled arm will not impart a spin on ball. |
Release Point |
Realistic – elevates from 5′ to well above men’s net, over 9′ 3″. | Pivots up to only 6′ (well below both men’s and women’s net height). |
Speed | Sets to 80 MPH jump serves & everything in between. (Higher release point enables top speeds as ball trajectory does not have to arc to clear net height.) | Sets, tosses and claims “hard” spikes and serves, but no actual speed is stated. (Lower release point requires ball to arc in order to clear net height.) |
Durability | Few moving parts, heavy duty welded powder-coated steel frame. | Complicated air pressure system installed in metal frame encapsulated in a plastic shell. |
Feeding and Tempo | Coach can control tempo by feeding continuously or delays. No recovery time is ever needed. The speed, angle and spin are instantly controlled by the coach with each serve, set or spike. | Air-propelled machine can be set to toss up to 1100 balls per hour (one ball every 3.28 seconds). However, recovery time is necessary after rapid fire of 8 –10 balls. |
Ball Use and Wear | New design includes specialized throwing wheels that are shaped to grip the ball with even pressure across a wide 4″ span to increase velocity and minimize ball wear. | No specific ball required. |
Digging | With the Attack & Attack II the ball is released from above the net, a true downward trajectory at high speeds, providing unmatched spike simulation with realistic reaction time for the ultimate digging drills. | Not capable of delivering a true spike over a regulation net. Spike drill must be performed from same side of net, below net height, severely limiting ball travel distance & player’s reaction time. |
Serving | Up to jump serve speeds and release point. Breaking top spins and floaters. | No spin limits serve to a simple floater. Low release point requires an arc to clear net & slower speeds to keep in court. |
Visibility |
Can see the ball from feed to delivery, providing a true sense of timing. True visual timing has to be based on ball movement. | Player’s timing must be based on a small light seen from across the court and an unrealistic “buzzer.” |
Speed and break for 3 wheels – What levels of play purchase the Total Attack volleyball machines?
International teams to university programs, as well as all the top club teams in the nation, will be interested in the new Total Attack. The Total Attack machine is clearly the number one volleyball machine for professional levels.
Can the Total Attack do a full range of drills?
Yes, this 3-wheeled machine can do digging, serving and team coordination drills delivering top-level speeds and breaks. Serving drills: Consistent repetition of a full range of speeds and spins including jump serves, breaking top spins, and floaters. Digging drills: Ball released from above the net provides a true downward trajectory at high speeds and unmatched spike simulation for digging. Delivery from the opposite side of the court and above the net provides a realistic reaction time during drills. Team coordination drills: Throwing head pivots instantly to any point on the court, at any speed or spin, from any height. This provides a realistic game simulation involving serves, sets, tosses, passes, hits, or spikes.
How is the volleyball machine moved around the court?
The Total Attack volleyball machine has extra large, soft non-marking 8” locking casters to allow the machine to move at the slightest touch.
What is the range of ball speeds the machines can deliver and how do you change the speed?
The Total Attack will deliver a serve at professional level speeds, over 90 MPH. The speed is quickly adjusted using the speed dials.
What adjustment is required on the machine to change placement of the ball on the court?
This can be done simply by loosening the horizontal and vertical locking handles, allowing the throwing head to freely pivot side-to-side or up-and-down to instantly target any location on the court.
What is the recovery time between throws for the machine?
There is no recovery time necessary. All Sports Attack volleyball machines can deliver rapid repetition for any drill. (Some competitive units require a recharging every 8- 10 balls.)
How does the Total Attack Volleyball Machine compare to the AirCAT machine in performance?
The Total Attack has a throwing head that easily pivots (no need to move entire machine), delivering balls to any location on the court. Spin, speed and tempo can be adjusted instantly between throws. Comparatively, with the AirCAT the entire machine (on wheels) must be moved to introduce variation. The AirCAT is limited by a release point that is lower than the net, speed is limited by arch of the ball, and it can not impart a spin as the ball is propelled by air.
How about the comparison of the Total Attack Volleyball Machine and the AirCAT relative to the ball release point?
Women’s net height is 7′- 4 1/4″, men’s is 7′- 11 5/8″. The Total Attack has the highest release point of any machine on the market, elevating from 5′ to well above the men’s net at over 9′ 6″. The AirCAT pivots up to only 6 ft.
How well does the AirCAT’s simulate game situations?
AirCAT is not capable of delivering a true linear spike over a regulation net. With the AirCAT, spike drills must be performed from the same side of the net, below net height, limiting ball travel distance and players reaction time. The AirCAT also has no spin capabilities, which limits a serve to a simple floater. With a lower release point, the AirCAT requires an arc to clear the net and slower speeds to keep the ball in the court.
When using the Total Attack, is there tearing or cutting of the ball or excessive ball wear?
There is no tearing or cutting of balls. The third wheel increases the gripping surface by 50%, which defuses any friction points, making ball wear a non-issue. With the wider, softer white polyurethane ball throwing wheels, actual ball wear is extremely limited. The convex contoured shape of the new throwing surface uniformly distributes the contact force, eliminating the high wear contact points. Leather or softer exteriors are only slightly worn with extended use at the highest of speeds, no marking from wheels on softer balls. As with other sports like baseball or tennis, coaches will typically use the prior season’s game balls in their machine.
How are the Total Attack most commonly transported?
These machines can fit through a gym door, easily breaks down and can be transported in a standard SUV or pick-up truck.
What is an acceptable length for an extension cord and what type do I need?
The machines use a minimum of #14/3 grounded power cord up to 200 ft. in length. A longer cord will require the opinion of a licensed electrician.
What are the full load operating amps for the Total Attack?
The volleyball machine draws 1.5 amps when running; however a 20-amp service is recommended for continuous operation.
Can the machines be operated with a generator?
Yes, however the generator must generate “clean electricity”. We recommend a minimum of 1000W up to 2000W Honda generator with inverter technology. Weight of these generators is approximately 27 lbs, similar to the weight of a battery, and they are extremely portable.
